A deal is done!

I baked some apple cakes and microwaved the rest of the windfalls to eat with muesli.

We picked up James from school. He’d not had a successful sleepover at his friend’s. The friend had got a sickness bug that’s going round the school so his mum slept with him and James was on his own. He said he didn’t eat any breakfast but got a clean sheet at football at school.

Then we picked Thomas up. I knew Alex’s mum from having picked up Thomas from First school. It had gone well and Thomas thanked her nicely for having him.

The journey home took ages. - heavy traffic and road works. James was ravenous and wondered which bit of Thomas he should start on. As so soon as we got in the house he asked for a bowl of muesli and yogurt. For tea I quickly made some fish fingers - they like them on a sandwich with raw veg so that was broccoli, carrot and peas.

They have reminded us the England v Argentine rugby is on at 8pm. We have agreed they can watch it, with the compromise that at half time they go to bed and watch it on the IPad.

They asked me to take the above photo in the car. It is apparently proof they have agreed some deal involving Pokémon cards. James looks jubilant unlike Thomas. Maybe he was worried he’d get eaten.

Their parents are enjoying Lisbon and will collect the boys on their drive home from Edinburgh airport on Sunday evening.
