To Points North
We are off today on yet another adventure to points north with a supply of woollies in case of plunging temperatures in latitude 59degrees north.
Orkney it is, and despite His Lordship having a partial meltdown when confronted with a whole month there last year, almost causing me to consider divorce, he has agreed to accompany me back to Stromness for a week, and promised he will try and enjoy himself.
I have managed to slip into the agenda, two days and one night in Lerwick, Shetland, before we meander home through the North of Scotland.
HL is not an island hugger unless it happens to be in warmer climes, while I like to think I have Nordic genes, able to withstand wind and tide.
For me, it will be action packed: there are blippers I want to see, and places I want to revisit. It will be a bonus if the weather is good, but no great hardship if it isn't. I am equipped for all eventualities.
Today we have a 5 hour drive up to Helmsdale in Sutherland to spend the night before catching the North Link ferry from Scrabster to Stromness tomorrow.
Before that however, His Lordship has an emergency visit to the dentist whom he thinks has put his crown ( not his coronet, but tooth) on back to front. This would explain why the back of the tooth is beveled while the front is flat and looks too small beside his existing teeth.
You couldn't make it up.
EDIT: HL is back from the dentist's, and our dentist's colleague assured him the crown is not on back to front, but simply a bad crown. Not good enough for £400,I'd say.
