Autumnal Cockmylane

Another damp autumn day. Of course my thinking is that last autumn was much sunnier, but a review of last years diary shows I spent a lot of time inside.

Rain does go off long enough to have a dry lunch time walk. Blip shows Cockmylane. The main route Robert Louis Stevenson took when he was a teenager to visit the family summer home at Swanston (and in the reverse direction in autumn). Cockmylane is apparently derived from the Gaelic Cuach na leanaidh, meaning "hollow on the sloping meadow containing springs".

The rain reinvigorated after I got home. However, managed a similar walk with my partner in the afternoon, again in a dry spell between rain showers.

Evening spent watching the last episode of Celebrity Race Across the World.
