Christmas baking practice

I have made a stollen.

I used Paul Hollywood’s recipe from Bake Off. It’s practice for one for Christmas.

I started it yesterday, but because the house isn’t warm enough to prove a simple fact because the heating isn’t on yet, I had to let it prove overnight.

After its second prove, it turned into a monster.

Then I ruined it: I set the oven too high. No amount of icing sugar can hide the evidence.

Still, I’ll know what to set the oven to at Christmas.
