Verbena blooms

The verbena is still blooming so I left most of it in the garden today. I tried growing it in my own garden one time but it was never happy. I planted some in this garden in 2015 and it has been happily self seeding ever since then.
Sad news this morning. My grand-nephew in Manitoba was killed in a car accident yesterday. I'm not sure his exact age, late 20's to early 30's. He was in a car with a friend of his driving and he was not wearing a seat belt. He had custody of his son, Cason is 8 years old now. My sister was not sure what would happen to him. My niece Kim, his mother, is taking it quite hard and she has been dealing with cancer herself for the past year. 
On a more positive note, I dropped off the photos for the DPS show next weekend and ended up talking to the organizer for over an hour. He asked me how I found out about the club and I told him from one of the other members and how I used to work with her at a garden center. He is a gardener too, so he took me out to show me his garden and all his babies. We have several mutual friends. I can see myself getting pulled in towards the center of that club.
