Many things remind me of Efteling, but nothing as much as this tower. Its atop a building I pass when I'm cycling to work. The tower reminds me of Pagoda, a ride I don't really like because it's just too high...

The tower is part of the Bisschop Hamerhuis that is located at Verlengde Groenestraat in Nijmegen. It was built in 1923, and was designed by Charles Estourgie, an architect from Nijmegen.
The building is named after Bisschop Hamer, a Scheutist missionary from Nijmegen who was murdered in China in 1900.

The tower with its distinctive shape was built as a reference to the missionary work of the Scheutisten in China. Nowadays the building is a rijksmonument and used by HAN Hogeschool.
