SANDCASTLES ON SILLY SATURDAY - BCAM 2023 DAY 28

Hello lovely Blippers,

Because it’s Saturday, we realised that the workmen wouldn’t be doing any work next door, so we decided to have a little scout around to see what was happening. They’re doing very well at the back, but at the front there are huge piles and containers of sand, gravel and other stuff.

As we haven’t been on holiday this year, and nor have the HCBs, we thought it might be a good idea to have a play in the sand and imagine that we were at the beach. Unfortunately we couldn’t find any buckets and spades, so we had to make do with some pots that we took out of Mr HCB’s greenhouse.

We were quite pleased with the sandcastles that we made, and of course it is Silly Saturday, so I’m sure that you can all imagine we got some funny looks from the postman and the neighbours – but not Lynn and Mike of course, because they were quite happy for us to play in the sand.  We think that it would’ve made dear Admirer giggle if she could’ve seen us playing.

Mrs HCB, however, was not amused, because she said that this isn’t actually “beach” sand but “builders’” sand which is very different and could stain us and our clothes but nevertheless we enjoyed it while Mr. HCB watched from a distance. 

We have left the sandcastles in the sand, so that the builders can see them on Monday and hope they don't mind!  You can see that Sid was at the front and said he felt quite at home, because of course, he is used to being on the sand and giving rides to children at the seaside.

You may be wondering why there is a "Happy Birthday" balloon - well we would normally put flags on our sandcastles, but as we didn't have any thought we would put this on - and it's bound to be someone's birthday!  If it's yours, Happy Birthday!
