Yay! At last time to squeeze in a late autumn holiday. Weather forecast almost everywhere awful, looked pretty good for Sardinia. Quickly booked the ferry return Livorno Olbia. We set off south at 9.30 am, there was v little traffic, but the weather was awful south of the Alps, incredibly heavy rain in N Italy. It was very windy but dry when we arrived in Livorno. We had time to have a walk around the city, and have dinner before we got on the ferry.
What a treat the ferry was, the Moby Fantasy, the largest ferry in the world and only 3 months old. Our cabin felt completely new and unused. We had a drink in the bar, then were in bed by the time we left the port at 22.10. It was rough, but once you’re in your bunk it’s nice to get rocked to sleep.
