The Farmers

There are four pubs and several bars and cafes in the ‘village’.
The Farmers Arms dates from 1910. When I was a youth it was very traditional and the place to go for advice on how to grow tomatoes. It once had a bowling green, now a car park. We used to worry that the landlord had enough pint glasses if there were a few of us. Early photos show the brewery as Bell. The owner of this brewery retired to a grand house in Torquay . Now Robinsons.
