Commencement exercises, seen from an unusual angle

The college where I teach held its commencement exercises Saturday. I was sitting on stage with all the other faculty and surreptitiously took this photo with my phone. Many people have seen the graduates walk the stage from the opposite site, but here's what it looks like from a professor's perspective. And, yes, those "fancy" doctoral robes do get pretty warm.
