Hallowe'en
TUESDAY
A much better day than yesterday. Sunshine and no rain.
I drove down to Rhuddlan (see extra) this morning. A haircut and a few bits and pieces from the shops.
Some gardening this afternoon.
This evening there was a Hallowe'en gathering in the village. I guess in excess of a hundred people turned out. All the children and a large number of adults and a few dogs were in fancy dress. There was entertainment, biscuits, Prosecco and soft drinks provided.
I decorated our house with candle-lit lanterns, some Hallowe'en themed lights and the ubiquitous carved pumpkin which attracted several groups of very polite and nicely costumed "trick-or-treaters".
One of the villagers opened their door to two small witches and a cat. She very sadly had to apologise profusely for having no sweets because she hadn’t been to the shops. “Oh never mind", said one of the witches, "we’ve got loads” ……..and one of the witches gave her a Mars bar!
