8:40am.Inside looking out.
My view through the front window this morning as I am having my breakfast porridge with fruit, chopped pineapple and a nectarine plus a lovely mug of ground coffee.
Hubby is still slumbering on!
The trees are just gently stirring their leaves.
It’s looks damp with a uniform cloud covering of grey with hints of brightness.
Wherever the storm was last night there doesn’t appear to have been any signs of it here, aside from dripping bushes and the the shiny wet road.
The leaves on the climbing shrub are now fast changing their colours, even from a few days ago.
The miniature cherry looks like a small burning bush.
I’ve looked at the news reports about Storm Ciaràn and it seems to be mainly in a Devon and Cornwall today across the whole of the South coast to Kent which will bear the worst of it so far.
The Met Office issued a highest alert for the Channel Islands which led to panic buying in Jersey.
Yet, sitting here eating my breakfast porridge with fresh pineapple and a nectarine, it looks so quiet outside it hardly seems possible.
This warning is in place till 1:00am tomorrow, (Friday).
Time will tell during today what will happen here today.
We are going to visit Bobbie this afternoon in the Dementia care home unit.
It has been closed for two weeks to all visitors due to the illness outbreak.
Neither of her daughters could visit her the week we were in Cornwall.
It reopened on Tuesday this week, as I rang to check.
As for the the rest of the news…………………..
Update:
The Storm has caused terrible damage in Jersey, and the Isle of Wight is under a state of emergency.
The damage to properties with people having to evacuate their houses after the storm did terrible damage, like windows blown out and trees falling on roofs. I could go on, but I guess all the main news channels are now carrying the stories.
