View from Porth
We were awoken before 5 by the tremendous sound of the storm. I sat in the living room watching the balcony glass flexing, listening to the patio door rattle and feeling the vibrations of the whole building. There was a lot of wreckage out on the streets this morning but thankfully we were unscathed.
When the wind dropped (from severe storm force 11 to severe gale force 9) we went for a walk across the cliff tops and Porth beach to the distant headland from which I took this shot looking back at Newquay. It was certainly bracing!
