Urban myth?

On my way up to my mother in law's there is a tree in a garden with these magnificent blooms in Spring. I believe it is a Chilean fire tree. It apparently grows in temperate climates but I grew up being told that this is only one of two such trees in Edinburgh, the other being in the Botanics.

I've no idea if this is the case or not. Whatever the truth the display is stunning even to someone who is partially colour blind!
