I am in a bit of a bind, because a friend is coming for dinner, & I am running out of time. So here is the novel I am reading for

TOM LAKE. By: Ann Patchett

The author wrote 2 of my favorite novels
(BEL CANTO, & STATE OF WONDER) &
happens to love Northern Michigan (US)
as much as I do. She set this story at
the fictional TOM LAKE, on a cherry
orchard, about a family hunkering down during that first dark Summer of COVID. (2020). There are 3 young adult daughters, who come home to help pick the bumper crop because none of the regular help
is able to return. Family drama ensues after the girls learn their mother…

It’s such a treat for me to visit Michigan
