Finished!

The big ranchslider was installed today and what a difference it’s made.  We can now step outside onto the deck and there’s so much more light coming into the room.  The last finishing touches were also completed on the window in the garden loo and the casement window in the main bathroom, and the lads also fixed the glass in the entrance door, which was wriggling around a bit.  It’s so good t have it all finished.

We also had an enjoyable social day.  We went along to the newcomers’ coffee group this morning and had a nice time chatting to people.  We then visited our lovely blipper friend, Mima, for lunch and a tour around her wonderful garden and orchard.  After lunch we went for a walk with Mima and her lovely dog, Bean, around a neighbour’s property.  It was good to stretch our legs after a delicious, healthy lunch.  Some bartering also took place.

On our way back to Oamaru we had to drive through Weston, where I took a photo of this beautiful electricity box.
