A little comparison

This view is of the once sleepy village of Ardmillan, just a fifteen minute drive away from home.  Years ago I nearly bought a house here!  The extra image is a photo of roughly the same view taken by myself on 27 August 1975, forty-eight years ago, taken with a medium format camera.  Sadly they are building further developments in the village completely destroying the village in my view.  How will the narrow country roads cope?

Good to see that the traditional red telephone box survives and has been freshly painted and the glass windows intact.  The telephone itself is now gone, but the telephone box has been adopted by the local parish church and during the summer months there were tomatoes growing in it and passer-by's could help themselves.  What a nice idea.
