Entropy and a screw

Such a lovely day after the storms, so after clearing up some leaves I went for a 5 mile walk to the east of Winchester. I noticed the top of this gate post - its slow rotting is making a nice home for fungi.

And later on the walk I noticed large patches of these, which might be honey fungus.
