Green Elf Cup

Relentless rain this morning when the spaniel and I went out but at least I found some Green Elf Cup hiding under a log. The mycelium of this fungus produces blue-green staining (known as 'green oak') on decomposing wood. If you turn the wood over you will sometimes (rarely in my experience) find the fungus itself.
