J in two fold

This old church of Kerea, little outside Almerida (after Kalives) has close to each corner of its walls + in its middle a J in reflection build in.
For a moment they puzzeld me, but it's clear they are the build in drainpipes... What clever design the builders of ages ago had (it belongs to Venetian architecure; Venetians from 1204-1669 on Crete) 

Together with my SIL I got here; she'd been sent here by her son who lives & works in Athens, to find the olivegrove with 30 trees and the soil between them full of weeds as it has not been worked upon for years... We searched the fields close to this church and data on GPS helped us locate the field what we did find and distinguish from the weeds + we counted the trees... Yes! This must be what he has in option and my SIL showed her son our finds.
Sometimes way of life here is such surprise!
