Cosy
Up early and while I read the papers and drank my tea I put the mincemeat into the oven to meld together, then got it into jars so I could take some to A. First time in ages that I’ve had a weekend in the country with her. Started with a coffee and chat about their recent Halloween entertaining and N&R who visited last week, then relaxed on the sofa for a while thinking about what we might do. Decided to go to Kelso for a late lunch in the lovely French deli there….both had onion soup followed by isles flottante for me and brioche bread and butter pudding for her. Delicious!
Had a wander round the town and browsed the antique shops, then went to the garden centre but no luck getting plants for my window boxes.
Home and she lit the fire and we had some more sofa time. I knitted and later she made some air fried chicken and salad whilst we watched Strictly. Very lazy day but nice to just hang out together.
