Unusual

Firstly, the weather has been  most unpleasant today with rain and cool temperatures. I did not get a photo opportunity. So, at this late hour, I found something rather interesting. I am currently selling a large collection of USA and Canada number plates on behalf of a friend. Amongst the 800 odd plates I found this cardboard pair from Maryland issued in 1968. Apparently, if you had to replace your plates a temporary cardboard pair, hand written and valid for one month could be used. It is extremely rare to find these as most were just thrown away when the permanent plates arrived. I note that they were attached to a Mercury.
