There are plenty of empty sections in Christchurch now, but this must be one of the greatest concentrations. The road is pristine, the trees in planters verdant, the street lights blazing - but not a stick of building to be seen.

It's a subdivision so perfect, no-one's allowed in. The entrance is blocked off by official high-visibilty mesh.

It's not even a ghost town, it's a ghost street.

But it is very well lit.
