Autumn Colours

It was a sparkling Autumn morning today, the kind you feel you could bottle and keep to open on a day of rain and gloom. The sunshine danced off the leaves fluttering to the ground from colourful trees, radiant in the sun. People had a spring in their step and the dogs an extra bounce. The low sun manage to evade the shelter of the balcony above the Dower House and shone into the rooms making it seem warmer  than it was.The plants on the sill turned their leaves towards it seeming to luxuriate in the unaccustomed warmth.

The sunshine unfortunately also danced on the dust motes lying on the floor and furniture tops showing up my slothful housekeeping to such a degree that I felt obliged to do a stint of hoovering, and dusting  but even that was all so much easier in the cheery sunshine.

I was out and about buying  groceries, mixing with the students as they milled about between lectures and had time as I waited at a crossing in Potterow to blip this colourful café
