McCorquodale stained glass window, St Conan's kirk
On July 4th this year, Tweedy pointed out that she had often driven past St Conan's Kirk on Loch Awe, bur never stopped to take a look at it. I realised that we too do the same. We simply just whiz past the kirk on the way to some holiday destination or other (and on our way back home again). Probably the first time that we did this was on our honeymoon - a long, long time ago.
So, following Tweedy's example, today we stopped at the kirk for a proper visit. There is much to see and photograph here, but I was particularly taken by the McCorquodale stained glass window, as blipped.
We also broke our journey home in Callendar. This was to (a) find lunch and (b) visit the charity shops. Mhor bread provided the former. What a shop, what sandwiches! Mr hazelh declared that his (tuna) was the best that he had ever tasted. Mine (tomato, mozzarella, basil) was also delicious. The charity shops were interesting too, but no purchases were made.
Home once again, we unpacked, loaded the washing machine, made bread, and prepared a gourmet supper of beans on toast (ha ha ha!) We are still in holiday mode, however, having popped the cork on a bottle of Crémant (and on a Monday night too - disgraceful!) Oh, and I won a game of Azul too :-)
Exercise today: none.
