Sugared Almond Sky

A full day. The morning I was in San An with Davide as he got ready to catch his flight to Tenerife. I helped with bags on the bus etc...he was extremely emotional and chaotic. Lots of tears, lots of showing me his weeping wounds, both emotional and physical (eeek!). I feel quite heartbroken for him, and honoured to have had this morning with him. Praying for peace for him in this next chapter of life. I was glad he sent me a video of him on the plane, I wasn't sure if he'd get on it.
The guys were over for team meeting this afternoon...lots of things to discuss and pray on, and lots of wisdom needed for us all. And then the guys went off to prison and Gemma hung out at ours. We saw the sky changing from the window so Asha kicked Gemma and I out to see it - I'm so glad she did, look at the colours! And in extras in our street, I loved the warmth from the lamps.

Today I'm grateful for;
1) Receiving an email to say Asha had been nominated by her old school for an award that recognises students who have shown extra aptitude/attitude/kindness etc! Only 1 child per school is awarded this, and we received such lovely words about her and why all the teachers had agreed she was the one who should get it. Apparently they nominated her in June! There will be an awards ceremony in a government place at the end of November. Feeling extremely proud of her.
2) The privilege of seeing Davide's wounds.
3) A moment to be still and exhale after the chaoticness of Davide and his leaving the island in such a whirlwind of emotion.
