This really is a very soggy caterpillar, I thought it was a seed head until I touched it gently..

Someone from the village saw the Aurora up on the moor last night but said it was only visible in a long exposure photo, I never saw anything despite several trips up the stepladder & hanging out the velux, sigh.. so it's still on the bucket list..!
