2,500 and the one
We left early for a scenic drive stopping at Twin Falls to hike to the waterfalls. Then on to Ho'okipa Beach to see the sea turtles and watch the surfers, windsurfers, and kite boarders. We had lunch in Paia and explored a few shops then on to Haleakala National Park. The observatory is at an elevation on 10,010 feet. We had a 30 degree temperature difference by the time we were at the top. It was cold, windy and very cloudy, not sure we were going to see much, but it cleared for a few minutes and we enjoyed the views. I have a few more photos in the Extra Photos if you would like to see the turtles and surfers.
