Not as busy as yesterday
We made sure we were up early, breakfasted and ready for G to arrive. He called in at Mitre10 on the way to pick up some timber and insulation. Once again, there were things to consider and decisions to be made, which all take time. The wall is now ready for the gib board to be fixed on, which will hopefully happen tomorrow.
We have to provide a space underneath the house in the undeveloped area for the new hot water tank, the feeder tank for the radiator heating system and some additional bits and pieces. That requires removing some dirt and levelling the ground ready for a concrete slab. MrMacD has been digging away and has made good progress. I helped him a little this afternoon by taking buckets of dirt and depositing them in another area under the house. G is going to build the cupboard to take the tanks and equipment. It needs to be done by the end of November.
I went out for a walk this morning to get some exercise. G needed some electric cabling and some silver paint to spray on the little windows either side of the fireplace, as these are being covered by the gib board and tiling. Now they just look like frosted glass windows from the outside.
G’s Dad, who’s a semi-retired painter, came around to look at the painting I’d like him to do and has agreed to do it. Phew! When, is the next question.
We’re both feeling tired, but in a good way, so should sleep well tonight.
The main blip shows the wall ready to be covered with gib board. The two extras show the area underneath the house, and the view from our kitchen window this evening.
