Amethyst

Another bright autumnal morning. The sun was still low in the sky when I came across a group of Amethyst Deceivers (Laccaria amethystina) and I was able to take this photograph with the lilac coloured fungi set against a vivid yellow background where the sunlight was bouncing off a dense thicket of young silver birch trees.
