Picture the scene

The wind blows, defeating the threatening clouds,
lone surfer tries to harness a reluctant wave,
dog chases dutifully after far-hurled stick,
ball hurtles through the air,
leaving father wobbling, one leg on sand, other pointing skywards,
jogger bounds along the pressed sand,
not one of them as fast as a toddler's kite.
