What a feast!
Ten of us were going to go to the local pub for a birthday celebration but it turned out that the pub wasn’t serving food at the moment. Two of our group came to the rescue and very generously offered to host our get together if we all brought something to eat. I suspect we dined on the best food on the island this evening.
My blip shows some of the desserts: in the cups goats milk panna cotta with fresh raspberries and Norwegian almond biscuits (kransekake), in the two larger dishes are Tunisian almond and orange cake accompanied by “jewelled”clementines. There was also a Canterbury tart and semifreddo. What a banquet, and this was just the deserts!
I was really taken with the cups and saucers in which the panna cotta was served. They belonged to the Norwegian grandmother of one of our group and she hand painted every one of them. I have included a shot of some of the saucers in the extra.
