These funny little flowers are always the last in the garden to bloom. I think it's some kind of Michaelmas Daisy. This year it has company from a rhododendron, which is clearly very confused.
I planted about 50 tulips this morning - another 25 to go, but I will have to clear a space for them first. The creeping buttercup has crept - raced might be a better word for it - across the patch in all directions. I removed enough to let me dig in the bulbs, but I can see dozens of pieces of its skinny while roots waving at me and letting me know that they'll be back come spring.
I'm getting a cold - probably one the Kingston Crew brought back from Mexico. Add the aches from the digging and I think I'll be retiring with paracetamol and a hot toddy.
