Back to Blip again…

Back to Blip again after another unscheduled break. Today’s Blip photo is of my dove print blanket - much needed always and particularly today.

We had a rather spectacular hailstones downpour during the day. I’ve been feeling the change in the weather with my fibro and joint hypermobility syndrome as well as my asthma.

Fibromyalgia has been kicking my you who what. I have been under a lot of stress too as I contracted my fourth chest infection of 2023.

I’m being sent for a chest x-ray and worrying about it as my asthma has been very flared up this year.

The asthma nurse believes it’s possible that it might be because I got Covid for the first time this year followed by three months of Long Covid which I have previously documented here.

Feeling very nervous and worried about the possibility that I may have scarring of my lung tissue which the nurse has highlighted to me may be the case due to having had Covid and Long Covid. Nobody has sounded my chest.

Telephone appointments and triage…no words. Failing patients. I have been on strong antibiotics and steroids and was incredibly grateful for them. The steroids should have been given 24 hours sooner. They affect my mood and sleep but are a necessary evil. The antibiotics flare up my IBS which I have due to my fibromyalgia. No fun…slowly attempting to get back to feeling more human. Zombified.

I have been mostly in bed for the best part of three weeks except for essential chores and it has been a struggle. I feel physically, mentally and emotionally drained.

I have been fighting on with all my life admin this week and playing catch up with everything, mostly from bed. I have phone and email fatigue!

Blip, Duolingo and many other things have had to be put on the back burner. I’m only just beginning to feel back to my usual level of chronic pain and fatigue.

Please keep your fingers crossed for the x-ray results to be clear. 2023, you have not been my year!

Due to my chest infection, asthma flare up and fibromyalgia flare, I haven’t had much time or energy to give to my crowdfunding project re getting a new washing machine.

I have submitted my appeal and if it’s successful, I intend to divide all monies donated between Fibromyalgia Action UK and Asthma and Lung UK as an acknowledgment of people like myself who have to live with these conditions day in, day out.

Please find my crowdfunder link below if you wish to donate. I will be posting updates here of the outcome of the appeal as and when I am informed of the Ombudsman’s decision.

I have worked for both the Council and the NHS as well as many other employers but my local Council do not care - which sadly doesn’t surprise me so appealing and undertaking the crowdfunding initiative feels like I’m taking my power back a little and trying to uphold some positivity in the face of relentless adversity:

I will write a Blip later this week about my Pain Climic journey so far as there have been several developments on that front which I haven’t had the energy to write about thus far.

Happy to be back, I will catch up with journals, stars and hearts tonight and tomorrow :) xx
