The harbour wall at North Berwick
I photographed the storm at North Berwick on 25/26 October and then on 30/31 October there was a very high tide and the harbour wall was breached by the sea. This is my first time back to the coast since then and the damage is extensive. It was a beautiful sunny windless afternoon today, but 10 days after the stormy weather locals are still cleaning up around the harbour and dry dock. The council are having to bring in marine engineers to assess the extent of the damage and to act quickly to prevent further damage by the constant motion of the tides. It's likely to be an expensive re-build.
