Eyes to the Sky

I don’t know where the plane came from that left this impressive contrail looking like it was headed straight down. There are one or two scheduled flights from the Sonoma County Airport flying over on their way south, and our next door neighbor the pilot loves flying his Cessna over the house. His wife can always recognize the sound of his engine…much like Spike who can hear our car approaching the house long before I can.

But this plane must have come from Travis Air Force Base near Sacramento to leave a contrail like this. It seemed quite abstract to me and was certainly manmade since it came from a jet!

I finished Dana’s quilt, and my quilter says she thinks she can finish it by Christmas if she bumps it ahead of the one I made for our bed. Good thing I took a picture of that one because I can barely remember what it looks like!

We’re having our neighbor Paul for dinner because his wife is out of town. The first time I had them to dinner we didn’t know them very well and I served salmon. Turns out he really hates fish and panicked when he saw a plateful of it in front of him. His wife told him to suck it up and eat it,!and I never knew what distress I had caused him until they told me later. He admitted that the salmon sauce I served with it saved him….

We’ve shared many meals since the Ill fated salmon night and I feel on pretty solid ground with roast chicken and veggies.
