The walking iris

We have a walking iris growing that flowered for the first time this year. The flowers were fully out yesterday and I thought great, tomorrow's flower Friday entry. Then there they were this morning, totally shrivelled. So I had to purloin these two which were growing through a fence nearby.

Until today, every walking iris I'd ever seen had three petals. I was thrilled to have found this four-petalled mutant, only noticed post theft.
