Health Walk
Another lovely day for the weather after a car-scraping start (Mr Rat kindly did it for me).
We did a consensus and decided to stick to the tarmac for the walk so a short section was outside the park but through the cherry trees.
Then to cafe, busy but not hectic and several compliments, which was nice.
Home for about an hour and then out for a meal (tasty but a bit stingy with portions - I asked for chips with mine, £4 extra, and got about a potato's worth) and then to the theatre to see the Opera Boys "A night with the Musicals". These are 4 classically trained tenors who've sung in the West End, who sing - as you might guess - songs from musicals and a couple of operatic pieces. There was humour in their presentation and it made a good evening's entertainment. It wouldn't have been my choice but 4 of us ladies from church took out a 5th, as a surprise, for her 90th birthday knowing she would enjoy it. We all had a good evening and I would recommend them.
It was late when I got home and found Mr Rat had news a friend in Ghana had died. We knew he'd been ill and had helped with some treatment fees but he hadn't told us how serious it was, even when asked, though we suspected all was not good. He leaves a wife and 3 children at school/college who are going to find life hard.
