Can't a bird fledge in peace?

So there I was ....fledging....this bonkers woman comes towards me with an odd looking thing round her neck and points it at me.
Suddenly it makes a loud clicking noise- repeatedly. Surprised? I nearly fell off me twig.
She had a chick of her own with her but clearly I am prettier.
