Iris . . . Goo Goo Dolls

The overnight rain left these raindrops on the flouncy iris.  I had a social day with morning tea with friends, a walk in Queens Gardens Nelson with Jen then coffee and a walk through the Suter Art Gallery.  The gallery had an exhibition of photographic portraits of  Maori facial tattoos combined with historic paintings of early Maori.  Jen and I are both from the North Island and these faces where familiar.  There is a smaller population of Maori in Nelson.  There was also a selection of paintings from the Fletcher Trust Collection and we both enjoyed our cultural experience.
Street drinks was to celebrate Darryl's  60th birthday.  Those of us over 60 said he had nothing to worry about.  There was a larger than usual turn out and some former neighbours came too.  There was lots of yummy finger food and we finished the evening with glasses of Fred's whiskey.  Fred was the elderly neigbour who died last December.  He wanted us to enjoy his whiskey on special occasions and we did,  That may explain why I didn't blip this last night but I couldn't possibly comment.
