Moving Day

Dalmellington Iron Company No 16, built by Andrew Barclay Sons & Co Ltd works No. 1116 built in 1910, gets moved out of the museum due to the leased building having to be vacated due to the landlord wanting to sell it.

The rails were no longer connected to the rest of the railway so the locomotive was pulled out by a large JCB wheeled loader.

The museum was in the former engineers workshop of the Dalmellington Iron Company and is one of the oldest railway workshops in the country.
