Sorano

Day 6 of our Tuscan holiday, and time to leave.

First a long morning walk though, no drive this time. Slept longer as it was a rainy and stormy night and I didn't expect the weather to turn good early in the morning, but the sun was shining, when I got out at about 8 am.

Three of the extras are from the walk, the last one is of Terrapille, the house famous for its "role" in the "Gladiator" movie. To get to a better viewpoint, I walked down the hill instead of shooting it from the town wall. Not exactly the point where the movie scenes were shot, but closer. After walking back up to town, 700 metres horizontally and 80 metres up, I was certainly hungry enough for the breakfast and in need of a shower.

After leaving the hotel and our lovely hostess Silvana, we drove to airport via Sorano and Pitigliano. We visited the latter last time and drove through Sorano, too, but didn't have the time to stop there then, so it was the primary destination this time. Quite a unique place as you can see in the main blip and the last extra.

After another stop in Pitigliano, we headed to the airport. Back home after 2 am to see that the 25 centimetres of snow that there had been on Wednesday evening was almost gone.
