Another lap of the sun

Today your Gal turned 48 and her main activity of the day was sleeping soundly between nightshifts...zzz

Being Armistice Day, today is yet another where I spend a moment wandering about the meaning of armistice. I was extremely lucky to grow up in a peaceful little existence, naively being taught about the laying down of arms & finding peace through negotiation, spending many years since seeing starkly that humans in powerful positions are talented in the arms bit yet severely lacking in the process of negotiation & keeping the dialogue going afterwards...mores the pity :-/

Anyway, we had cake (vegan, thank you eldest Dahling), cards, some chocolates & a mysterious cardboard tube that had travelled all the way here from bonny Scotland.

Youngest asked what it may be, "Merch?" I speculated, "Not that Duran Duran fella you like!" she giggled...before seeing the unrolled poster of the very gorgeous John Taylor(!!!!!!!) and conceding "Mmm, he is gorgeous isn't he!?" Thank you Ms.Arell ;-D

And now onto Nightshift no.2 - have wrapped up cos it feels chilly already and am hoping all goes smoothly until home time in the morning. Nunnite lovely people in my Blip feed!
