Somewhere new

Swinside (or Sunkenkirk) Stone Circle, one of the best-preserved stone circles in northern England, and a great little walk from the A595 Broughton-in-Furness road.  It's a 28m diameter ring of 55 stones of porphyritic slates, with the tallest one 2.3m high.  It's Neolithic, scarcely visited, hasn't been investigated for its archeological interest since 1901, and its original purpose is a mystery; and the sky really was that blue today; how amazing is that?
