The Market

It’s the number one pickpocket area. We’re told, “Don’t buy your fruit in the market.” It’s overpriced and not the quality of the supermarkets or the little shops. And they give tastes of the best and package up the rubbish for the innocent tourist. In some ways that’s true. You need to be careful and alert.

But it’s fun. It’s bright. There’s so much to see. It’s unmissable if you’re in Madeira.

And the fish section is amazing.

Extra : kids having fun with the statues.

A fabulous day, in spite of serious humidity.

A leisurely lunch with a friend and then an excellent concert in the Legislative Assembly Building. A wonderful cellist playing the Schumann cello concerto, and then a rip roaring performance of Beethoven’s 4th…..

It’s not surprising I’m tired.
