Kevin Cuts
An enjoyable afternoon taking in the very impressive art produced by the Bedford House Print group. Part of the art community located in Buckhurst Hill. The exhibition was in the old Hunting Lodge on the edge of Epping Forest.
I was admiring the lino cut of trees against a starry sky. Kevin, who had created the work showed me one of his deadly sharp scraping tools for cutting grooves in lino. It's a process where you have to think in reverse to visualise what will be left to press ink onto the print.
I remember my mother doing lino cut work - some of which is still on the family walls.
