Poppy fall

This morning, I went to Ely Cathedral and took part in the school's remembrance service. After ten years of watching the poignant moment when poppies were dropped from the Lantern Tower during the two minutes silence, I joined the group of students who went up the tower to drop the poppies. We were led up the spiral staircases and transept roofs to the angel doors at the top which were opened to allow the poppies to be dropped. We had just two minutes from the last note of the Last Post. Some poppies from previous years were still sitting there as they hadn't made it all the way to the ground. We then headed back down in time for the end of the service.
