frosty

A proper frost! I'm not a fan of hogwort in summertime, but if its left to grow in the long grass under the apple trees, the stalks and seedbeds look sculptural in winter, and come into their own on a frosty day.

The sunshine was forecast to end quite abruptly at lunchtime, so I took off on my walk this morning. No need to drive anywhere; I just took the keeper's track up behind the house and headed up over the fields to the top of the hill. From here I could see the cloud coming in from the south west. Back home for a couple of barrows of logs some strength training, and the rain started. Time for lunch.
