Post Office tree

We visited the Bartholomew Dias museum complex which was most interesting, with a fascinating shell museum and aquariums, and the maritime museum where a replica of the Bartholomew Dias caravel is on show. Bartholomew Dias led the first successful expedition around the Cape of Good Hope, in 1488. Later explorers supposedly used this huge Milkwood tree as a post office after one explorer left a letter in a sailor's shoe tied to the tree!
