Don't follow the stream

Bert had clearly not done any research into where exactly the river Roer flowed into the Maas, so we stood in the pouring rain near a body of water that flowed into the Maas, but not near the river we were following. This only became apparent later when we got home and I checked the route again on the map. The moment we stood at the riverside I wanted to believe everything. It was raining and we were still far from home.

There is actually something to it, because just as we have not been to the source, we have not been to the estuary either.
